All aboard for a new chapter! In preparation for the start of construction of the Pope Street Workforce Housing Project, this historic McKeen railway car, which has long been stored on the property at 963 Pope Street, is now on its way to a fresh start. McKeen railcar enthusiast Madison Kirkman (on the right) with McKeen Motor Car Company Historical Society, and a group of volunteers helped remove it earlier this month and will begin its preservation in San Diego. We’re inspired by Madison’s passion for preserving history.
