Solving the housing problem will take creative solutions. In Charlotte, nonprofit, Roof Above, buys hotel and turns it into housing for 88 families. This winter, it will be used for an emergency shelter. By summer, it will begin its transformation into permanent housing for 80 families facing homelessness. 

With Covid decimating the hospitality industry, many hotels are facing low occupancy rates. This may be a model that other organizations will replicate. Read more
